Ice Hockey defenceman by day and scholar by night, Manchester Storm and Salford University student Dallas Ehrhardt adds yet another string to his bow as he joins ON:iTRecruitment as a delivery consultant
How did you get to know the ON:iT team?
I’m originally from Calgary in Canada, but I came over to Manchester a couple of years ago to sign with Storm as a defenceman. I’ve loved it here so far and I’m set to stay at the club for another season. I’ve really settled in the city and I’m also studying for a Masters’ degree in International Business at Salford University.
I got to know the ON:iT team through their sponsorship of Storm, and they offered me the opportunity to take on a delivery role.
Tell us about your role at ON:iT
I’m joining Aled’s team of delivery consultants. Day to day, I’ll be talking to candidates and continuing to communicate with them throughout the process – from the very beginning right the way through to after they accept a role.
I’ll be working with all kinds of candidates in many different ways, and I’m looking forward to getting started. I may even be able to carry over some of what I’ve learned in my business modules at University and use these communication skills to my advantage.
What makes ON:iT different?
I think the guys just have a great vibe about them. The place is great, and they have a really clear idea of what they want to achieve.
What I really like about ON:iT so far is the team dynamic, though. It reminds me of the team spirit we have at Storm. Everyone is pulling together to help one another.
When you’re not at work, what do you get up to?
I like to get around Britain and try to see as many places as I can – I think I’ve been to most of the UK now.
Manchester is great – it’s so easy to get around to do stuff, which is very different to my hometown. I try to get out to play golf or catch a movie on the weekends whenever I can, and right now I’m also working on my dissertation for my Masters’ degree.
